I put my stripes back on today and officiated Yuba City’s powder puff game. It was nice to be back on the football field. I was also pleasantly surprised at the level of play by the ladies. They played strong and tough. The game was played cleanly and it drew a nice crowd. It’s always funny to watch the boys squeeze into the skirts and be cheerleaders. I think it’s good for the football players to realize that cheerleading isn’t as easy as they make it up to be.
This morning I decided to sleep in a little. I thought that I had a pretty easy day ahead of me since I was working later in the afternoon. Well I hit some snags in the office and wound up running late all day. It’s funny. I work like an airline. If I’m late to one visit, it just snowballs. I am, no matter how much time I cut, still running the same amount of time I was late to start the day–today it was 20 minutes. By 1, I had accepted it. I called everyone and told them I was late. It’s not like any of them really care because I’m just dropping in. However, I have this thing about being on time.
I have one more day of appointments before I go on semi-spring break. I will officially go on spring break on Friday. I am driving down to Manteca to visit friends and family. But I keep thinking that next week doesn’t exist and that I have to be back to work on Monday. Not true. I have an ENTIRE week off following this one. SWEET! So sweet in fact I thought about trying to get a flight over to Hawaii on my free Southwest ticket to just sit on the beach. However, if you didn’t know this, it takes FOUR Rapid Rewards to get back and forth. That just stinks. Maybe I’ll find a weekend where I just want to run away and regroup. I usually go somewhere for Spring break but because of Europe, I’m holding back.
I think I am going to hang with my cousin Josh for a day next week too. He is getting eye surgery next week so he will be home hanging out. I miss the guy. We’ll find something to get us in trouble for sure.
I’m also a little upset with my friend Joey. He is one of my oldest friends that just recently announced he was getting married. That’s great. And I mentioned earlier that he told me by text message. I called him to get a date on my calendar a few weeks ago.. voicemail. Today I decided to call again… voicemail. There’s no one that misses that many calls, SO I am drawing the conclusion he is ignoring me. That’s cool. I don’t have to go buy some crappy gift. More Euros for booze.
