I am back in the housing game again. After talking to some friends and do a little reading, I figure I better start looking again. Here’s my thinking… prices are not going to drop TOO much more–$20k tops. Interest rates are probably going to be a low as they are going to get. If the rates go up a quarter to half a percent that drop in price is gone. So, I’m out and about looking to see if I find something I like.
The key word is like now not love. I have had a shift in philosophy when it comes to buying a house. My first venture out, I was trying to buy THE house. Well THE house in my mind is at LEAST 400k. There’s no way I can afford that right now. So I have decided to lower my standards a little bit and just get into it. I will ride out the market and see if I can make a profit on it.
Linda hit it on the head that I am moving partly because of my roomie. I guess this is half true. He’s a REALLY nice guy… I think TOO nice. He is trying too hard to be my friend which repels me. Case in point–today I was washing my car with my headphones on… usually that’s a clue to anyone else not to try to talk to some. But he really is a nice guy, so I feel bad brushing him off… I just kind of do my own thing at home and I don’t like people messing up my plan for the day. Hmmm .. maybe that’s why I am single…
I will say this weekend was absolutely beautiful. I spent yesterday out in the park with Julie riding, going to farmer’s market, lunching, and walking around downtown. We rode all over the place on our bikes. I just enjoyed the sun on my face and the wind blowing. I just don’t want to get too comfortable with “spring.” I know the rain will come and wash all my good feelings away. Today, I took advantage of the sun again and went on a challenging run with my friend. I also watched a lacrosse game and washed my car. It was so nice in fact, that I took my computer out to my patio to do my homework. Anyone who complains about how expensive it is to live in Cali, should turn on the weather channel and watch all those people in the Midwest dig out from their little spring “treat” of a couple of feet of snow.
